Beachmere Area Network Group was formed in 2014, when a group of local people set out to create a group which would bring local community groups together.
“Our Goal is to provide a shared voice for individuals, community groups and businesses in the Beachmere area. ”
Mr Frank Harvey was the inaugural president.
The group became Incorporated in 2015.
In 2015 and in 2016 Karen Harris was elected as the President of the organisation.

President: Karen Harris
As a “long term” resident of Beachmere Karen is well known in the area. Through her fitness and Pilates classes in the local area and as a member and a volunteer at the Beachmere Bowls Club over past years; as a local JP and as a local Celebrant, Karen has built a strong community presence.
Karen is in her second year as President and has been helping BANG raise its profile in the community by introducing BANG and its activities to other community groups and entities.
Karen is also involved with the Beachmere Community Bank Steering Committee ensuring BANG maintains good connections with this exciting new project for Beachmere.
As a committee member, and current President of Beachmere Area Network Group, Karen has helped to organise a host of community events and activities including Fabulous Art Beachmere Art Exhibition 2016; the regular Car Boot Sale, a regular monthly event; Books for Bucks, a fund raising book sale; Movies in the Park and other events.
Secretary: Christine L. Dillon
Christine has been a proud and active Beachmere resident since 2004. She has been a small business owner, founding Board member and Marketing & PR team leader at Moreton Bay Birali Steiner School.
A full-time mum & volunteer for over seven years, Christine has a wealth of office skills including event management, graphic design, marketing, networking and team leadership.
Christine joined BANG in 2015 and was elected BANG Secretary in Nov 2016. Since Nov 2015 she initiated and co-ordinates a monthly “Ladies, Let’s do Lunch”, in 2016 assisted with fundraiser Books for Bucks and in 2017 is on the Animating Moreton, BAM – Beachmere Art & Music Committee. Christine has also volunteered and coordinated Clean Up Australia Day Sites in Beachmere, 2016 & 2017, is on the Steering Committee for the Beachmere Community Bank ® Project and is 2017 Board Secretary at the Birali Steiner School.
Christine is well known in the community and has a “what else is possible?” attitude. She wants to continue to make Beachmere a fabulous place for our next generation to enjoy and let everyone know how lucky we are to live here in Beachmere.
Treasurer: Mary Brown
Mary is Queensland born and bred and managed to survive 9 years in PNG and another 7 years in W.A. She returned to Qld in 1989 and settled in Beachmere.
She has always had a head for numbers and formalised it with an Advanced Diploma of Accounting, plus other studies along the way. Her working career has always been in an accounting, office management type of role across a number of industries.
In the NFP sector she has been Secretary for the Lae Pistol Club (in PNG) and in Australia, has been Treasurer for the Caboolture Aero Club and more recently she has spent 7 years on the Volunteer Marine Rescue Bribie Island committee (6 of these as Treasurer) plus an additional 6 years doing radio and other assorted duties. Currently, she is the assistant treasurer for VMR, and training the new treasurer-elect.
Also she has been a Justice of The Peace since 1976 and a member of our local witnessing service. She is happy to be able to contribute something back to her own community here in Beachmere by being part of the BANG team, after a working life in the city.
